The Cyber Knight Blueprint
Zero to Job-Ready One Step at a Time
I started learning IT from scratch this year (2026), and I'm showing you the exact, fluff-free path to do the same. I have learned a lot so far; it is not easy, but it really is possible if you put the time and effort into it!
A solid blueprint for achieving success, as I have come to know it, is this:
Start with the basics of what is inside a computer (CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD, HDD, Motherboard, Peripherals, etc.) {Branch Education on YouTube}
Expand into the basics of the Windows Operating System (how to make folders, assign permissions, create users, install updates/applications).
Learn some of the foundations of networking (DNS, DHCP, OSI 7 Layer Model, Ethernet, VPNs, etc.) {NetworkChuck and Professor Messer on YouTube}
Start pursuing certificates such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and/or Coursera's IT Support Fundamentals (I'd start with CompTIA A+ or Coursera) {These are what are known as vendor-neutral certifications. Meaning they help you understand concepts around how systems work and how data moves. They don’t show you how specific equipment works.}
After this, we can just build off of this strong foundation
Check out Coursera's certification on IT Support Fundamentals (around $55/month)
Go to CompTIA's official website and purchase the A+ Core 1 & 2 CertMaster Study. It is a study guide that covers the A+ material (around $180)
Check out Branch Education's YouTube page to learn how hardware works https://www.youtube.com/@BranchEducation
Check out Network Chuck's YouTube page for networking, AI, and other skills https://www.youtube.com/@NetworkChuck
Check out Professor Messer's videos that cover a lot of the CompTIA concepts https://www.youtube.com/@professormesser
Then, figure out your roadmap. What is it that you want to accomplish? Networking, Cloud, Web Applications, Cybersecurity, Coding, or Basic IT Support; the list goes on!
There are so many resources to look into. YouTube is amazing for free resources.
Lastly,

Breaking Into the world of tech
Like many, I feel intimidated by the tech world. Acronyms, hard concepts, complex certifications, and a sense that everyone else already knows everything. This journey started with zero experience, fueled by a commitment to demystify IT fundamentals for anyone ready to learn.
Every lesson, every struggle, every breakthrough will be documented here and is currently on my YouTube channel. I am going to be building a practical training system designed to break the barrier to entry for what it takes to get into the world of IT

From Scratch to Certification
This year has been an exhilarating journey as I've explored the fascinating realm of IT! From diving into basic hardware to mastering the intricacies of network security, every milestone has filled me with excitement. I still remember the thrill of first hearing about ethernet and the joy of creating my very first virtual machine. Each step has shown me that a self-taught path isn't just possible—it’s an amazing adventure!
I've struggled through courses with college, Coursera and CompTIA, and I still am on a daily basis. But lets be real, it will be so worth it in the end if we can break into this field!
